Ed. clicked on he image in my account and I noticed that inderneath the image it was showing a link to my old e-mail address although I have changed it and the change acknowleged by Gravatar.
Yes my new e-mail address is in the blue box. Clicking on the image in my account just enlarges the image but as I said underneath the enlarged image is the following :-http//gravatar.com/dkaye193 whis a reference to my old e-mail address.I have now sent Gravatar four messages without reply, i just wish the site had a contact telephone number as it is driving me mad
Now that is rather strange because if your E/mail address is correct in the Blue Box and is identical to that which is in your AB Profile, a click on an Avatar should only ask you to confirm that that is the one to used.
Just to prove my point I have ,very temporarily, altered mine. It will be changed back in due course to it's original AB one.
The email address you have set up in your AnswerBank profile points to the dkaye193 Gravatar account. The public page of that Gravatar account is currently displaying your email address (you may wish to remove this) and 2 pictures - the first is the default Gravatar logo and the second is an owl. Does this owl picture exist in Manage My Gravatars?
Below the blue box containing your primary email address is there a second smaller grey box with your new email address which can be clicked on and turns blue?
If it does exist, when you then click on your owl avatar does your new email addresses appear under that picture?
1.Sorry ABerrant but my profile is showing my new e-mail address i.e [REDACTED]@virginmedia.com 2. Yes the owl is in my Gravatar account.3.No there is not a grey box belowthe blue one.
Your posting has remained but you will see that your E/mail address has been (REDACTED). Just as well or you could find your 'In Box' loaded with e/mails from all sorts of unwelcomed correspondents; including those from 'con merchants' trying to gain access to private information on you computer; Bank account details, Passwords etc.
Join the club dannyk. I am not an expert on Computers and am amazed that I have been awarded a 'Nerds' badge in AB.
The only Profile of you which I can see of you in AB is your Public one; which does not include any E/mail address. However, I am not too sure how it works if you have completed in Gravatar a section which basically encourages people to give additional information about themselves and includes a box for their E/mail address.
I feel sure that ABerrant is more knowledgeable on matters than I am and hope that he is able to make further suggestions to get your Avatar published in AB and your E/mail address suitably protected.
In the meanwhile I now have to re-establish my original Avatar from the one which I have displayed for test purposes.
Received e-mail from Gravatar this morning suggesting I try another browser as they have heard of this problem from other IE users.I will try on Google gold and see what happens( or rather my daughter will when she finishes work)
