Why isn't the dog allowed in the lounge? that is a sure way of making a dog jealous of children and then possibly going on to bite, the dog and the child need to grow up together, not in separate rooms, a few dog hairs won't harm a child, my kids crawled around the floor with the dogs, children today are molly coddled too much with cleanliness, they need to get dirty in order to build up immunity to germs, my youngest son was found playing in the dogs water bowl one day, my kids never got sick, so long as the dog is wormed regularly and deflead your child won't come to any harm, obviously monitor them when they are together, You managed to walk the dog before you had your child, so why not now? Child, pushchair/dog on lead problem solved, there is really no excuse whatsoever. Sorry.
