When Tilly, our Staffie goes, we are thinking of having a retired greyhound. There is a greyhound racing track not far away from us and they often advertise their retired Greyhounds. They seem such gentle and amenable dogs.
My Sally is a lurcher...supossedly a whippet x. But everyone assumes she's a small greyhound so there may be some grey in there. She's the sweetest tempered dog...shy with people. Likes a few mad moments when out...then just trots along...looking elegant. I'd have another if I could...but I'd also need another sofa.
;-)
they don't all but they are sighthounds and if they have raced, then that tendency (chase small furry things and kill them) will have been stimulated and encouraged.
I've got a photo somewhere in the archives of Spider, our greyhound curled round four very young kittens, he was babysitting while their mother was having a meal ....he never chased any of them but then he was brought up with them.
