Is the cat just trying to get the dog out of the way for the dog's own protection, do you think? They seem friendly enough otherwise - the dog doesn't seem to mind, and the cat doesn't seem aggressive once it gets off the Roomba.

Cress, it's called CRESS. I'll never forget now thanks to your sons Robi. Oops, think you dropped some there http://i49.tinypic.com/2n20ema.jpg I'd like to grow some but googling I just come up with tips like sowing on wet paper towel and I find that yucky. One forum particularly said not to use soil because of some kind of earth bacteria. Really?? I don't get it. Everything grows in soil doesn't it. I don't want one of those ceramic thingamajigs either, I just want... soil, dammit...! Any ideas?
Oh and while I'm being domestic, Robi, I can't keep buying new Dunoon mugs all the time just because my old ones are dirty (bougth two new ones yesterday:) and I'm sure I've seen you answer a question on how to remove tea and coffee stains from mugs. Somebody - I'm not sure if it was you? - mentioned bicarbonate and that's what they told me at The English Shop yesterday as well and they sold me a packet of Dr.Oetker's Bicarbonate of Soda. Now what? Hot water? Overnight or just for a few minutes? How much bicarbonate? And if you weren't the one saying bicarbonate, all other tips are welcome as well, and from the rest of yous as well of course. The English shop ladies mentioned salt too, but that sounds too abrasive to me.

Why is a wet paper towel yucky? (it works very well, as does cotton wool) Didn't you ever do that at school, Kit haha? A good quality potting compost would be ok but I wouldn't go pinching a bucket of soil from your little park :o)
Yes bicarb of soda but I don't do the rubbing as woofy said I add one heaped teasp to a mug of boiling water, leave for at least half an hour, it just wipes off when you wash it...if you pop your teaspoons in at the same time they'll clean up nice 'n shiny too.
I shall give you another handy tip each day, haha

Hi Lotters!
ooh do they have pearlite in Sweden?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perlite
very light to carry, comes in small bags, clean to handle

Oh wow it just comes right off - brilliant...! I left it for half an hour, didn't want to rub and scrub the glaze too much. Can't help but wonder what even the soaking method will do to the glaze in the long run but for now I don't really care:) Just brilliant, I feel like a Happy Housewife! One of them retro ones.
Okay so the paper towel method may not be yucky for the first few days... but a week in - yukety yuk. Yes they do have Perlite in Sweden Woofy:) ...but I just found a device that's intended for sprouting cress and mustard seeds and it looks quite neat http://www.froer.nu/p...5674/groddtrag+2pack/ Ain't nothing like da soil though http://i50.tinypic.com/2ryn4h0.jpg
Woofy now that you're around, please explain about gifs needing to be saved in a html surrounding and therefore the mail box being a good storage place. I know what html *is* - but I just save my gifs in My Pictures...?

Sorry I just bung in bleach for a couple of seconds and rinse!!! Also like Lottie, I can't stand cress (is that the same as mustard and cress) We grew it on face flannels at school!
And to clean out my electric kettle I use hydrocloric acid, Mr N freaks out so I do it when he's out and tell him I use vinegar, keeps him happy!

But if doesn't it doesn't - or does it. Does saving them in an email increase the chance that they'll work or does it just show that they won't (or that they will) - now I'm really confused ha ha!
Neti sprouting cress seeds is one thing and sprouting mustard seeds another. I've never tried sprouting mustard seeds - but the gadget I posted will work for either, so their info says. Hydrochloric acid, oookaaaay... now I see you as one of those little old ladies in Arsenic and Old Laces, Neti! ;-)

HI there. I do all my mugs in one go. I fill a bowl with cold water put in a drop of bleach and put the mugs in on their sides and leave them for about half and hour then I wash them in fairy liquid and hot water.
I love leaves of any sort. At the mo I'm into Sainsburys Italian salad a mixed bag of leaves. Rocket ,Red Cos, Green Batavia and Mizuna. Don't know why it's called Italian but I love it.
Rocket ~Spikey green leaves with a bold peppery flavour.
Red Cos~smooth cherry red coloured leaves with a slighty bitter flavour
Green Batavia~Soft green leaves with a mild slightly nutty flavour
Mizuna~succulent spikey leaves with a delicate mustard flavour
Well that's what it says on the packet and I love it.

Evening all
Not a bad day .Sat in the garden and did crosswords but it's clouded up now and it looks like rain .
Nothing of great interest going on at Shaneytowers .Hair's still a mess :)
I sent you a mail earlier today Neti with a link about the GK crossword from Sarumite .I shan't be coming round to you for a cuppa though .I use Oust for the kettle.
Hydrochloric acid might be a better idea though with the limescale we get here . You can nearly chip it off with a hammer and chisel :)
I've got two tubs of Dr Oetkers baking soda going begging in the cupboard Kit . Before we had a dishwasher I used to use baking soda on cups .
There's nowt on tele so I'll carry one crosswording and scribbling .T.pip for now xx
