Hello Jasmin26, I too have a Morton's Neuroma and am waiting for surgery to remove it. It is between 3rd and 4th toes, underneath, and it has been explained to me that the operation will be done from the top of the foot, going downwards. Apparently it is quite a large neuroma which is like a lump of gristle, and that the cortisone injections which were originally mentioned would not work on it. I had an ultrasound scan to find out exactly what it was, and apparently there will be an MRI scan before the actual surgery takes place, so that up to date information is available.
In the part of the country where I live, Essex/Herts, there is a 12 month waiting list for surgery, and I have been waiting 5 months so far, so prepare to be patient whilst for the operation.
I wish you a speedy recovery since I know exactly what sort of pain you have. I have found that really thick socks are the best thing to walk around in indoors, and thick rigid soled shoes seem to be most wearable to reduce the pain.
