Any nail technicians out there ?

Rather than having nail gel put on at the salon, when my nails break down low, can I buy a pot and do it myself at home ? Do I need to put a primer of something else on first, and can I manage without a UV dryer ? I just wondered if I could literally put a layer of gel on the nail before I paint them.

you can buy a gell nail kit in boots or superdrug and you dnt need a dryer x
