Are there truly people in this world who can communicate with the dead or is it a cruel con trick? I have an open mind personally, but am interested to hear other people's views.
The adverts for shows such as Psychic Sally always have a clause in the 'small print' that says ''This presentation is for entertainment only'' in other words it is just a show like a magician, singer or talent contest !
They have to put that so as to prevent the possibility of being sued by disappointed 'customers'.
Thanks to all those who gave their thoughts on mediums. Interestingly, not one from anybody who claims to have the "gift", nor anybody who claims they believe 100%. Mmmmm.... speaks volumes I think.
They have that notice because they are legally obliged to by authorities that wouldn't dare try that on other religions, for example, Songs of Praise, but feel spiritualists are simply there to mock, or more accurately force to mock themselves.
The only volumes it speaks is that most of the site members here have closed minds when it comes to considering a spiritual realm and the possibility that some are able to communicate with it.
I have no doubt whatsoever that some people have an ability that the rest of us don’t – but the showbiz loving Psychic Sallys of this world aren’t among them.
One of the main stumbling blocks in these touching times may be that nobody's comfortable contacting The Great Randi for fear of a protracted court case.
Anyone remember the famous psychic Doris Stokes of 30/40 years ago? No-one's heard a peep out of her since she died. She was going to come back and tell us all sorts.
How interesting hc4361. Have you been able to do this since you were young? Is it frightening? I am interested to know how it affects you and how you deal with it.
Everybody is poo-pooing TV mediums but to say it's all crap is just untrue and blinkered. I must be one of millions that have on occasions been told things by mediums they couldn't possibly have known. Seems it's easier and perhaps safer to say it's all a con than contemplate the possibility that some people do have some kind of 'gift'. I have a very open mind on this.
