is there any body on here that has ever thought about food when your eating/cooking it and whether or not it hurts the food? does rice scream and squeal when you put it in boiling water etc?
I think jennkins would probably agree with you, katie. And I am sure she can give you a complete scientific explanation for it too. Just ask her for it - she's an expert in biology.

Katietab don't despair, I've never thought of food actually hurting...however I never leave 1 baked bean in a tin (in case it gets lonely and it's family are all in the pan), but it gets worse than that, I don't leave two in (in case they don't get on with each other!)
The only thing Im thinking of when Im cooking my food is how great it is going to taste! Thanks for that Estie, Im sure you ment that is a really nice loving way.. ha
its not nice for us to watch but that and freezing them are the most humane way to do it. i went to cookery school in london and we had to cut them in half while they were still alive and grill them!! it was awful
