Generally not and it depends on what you are doing to be hionest and the temperature but there is a condition whereby you oevrload your body with water and that can ersult in hospitalisation, but you have to drink literally huge amounts. I run every day and never drink less than 8 or nine pints of water and often much more.
Hi, I'm not sure of the details, but I'm sure someone will find a website for you. Here goes.....if you plan to drink this amount of water you should introduce it over a week or so as the kidneys need time to adjust....they can get over loaded by the 'clean' fluid and not do their job properly. I think I have also heard of rare complication that can lead to death.....again I am not sure of the details [probably shouldn't have answered this question....lol]....but it was basically a water OD.!!!! Probabally not much help....lol
I know that a few years ago a young girl died after taking ectasy, the cause of death was not the drug itself but her increased intake of water following taking it. I believe it can cause cell damage and dilution of essential body fluids.
Hellion, I think you are right there, I seem to remember that more problems caused with drinking too much water than the Ecstasy itself, Never having taken the stuff myself, Im not sure if it was the Ecstasy that makes you thirsty or all the dancing that the drug encourages.
Was that a girl called Leah you're talking about Ratter? I thought that she actually drowned rather than it being a case of too much water being bad for you.... I could be completely mistaken of course tho.
something i read once said there is enough alcohol in tap water, that if you drank double your bodyweight in water you could get drunk... although this would kill you through the massive intake of water...
China Doll, it was Hellion who mentioned the young girl. I got my info from a documentary on TV, I think they said too much water swells the brain and can kill you, I may be wrong though.
