Is going on a sun bed for 6 miunutes a week dangerous. I have obviously heard a lot about them being harmful but just wondered if just six minutes would do any harm.
yes this is doing your skin alot of harm, there are actually tests you can have to see how sunbeds/sun has aged and affected your skin, you would be shocked and horrified at the results,
im sure not everybody who goes on a sunbed will get skin cancer, but the ones that do are definatly increasing their changes of getting cancer by ALOT, if you got skin cancer and were told there is nothing they could do for you, would u think 6 minutes was worth it?? seriously get a spray tan, much safer xx
Smudge !
You are correct in what you say as I also have been treated for Melanoma and fortunately cured of the problem.
Beware of the Sun and SunBeds !!!!
So sorry to hear you've been affected by the sun's rays too redman & hope you're much better now.
I've had sunstroke twice (only because I feel asleep on the beach after very long overnight journies) & had to have the local doctor visit to treat me. I would never want to go through that again, so am much more careful these days!
Linda...i agree with all the comments above, but I have taken it that you are an adult who is going to a sunny country for your holiday and will sunbathe. You say a total of 6mins, once a week for ?4weeks once a year and your skin is not particularly sensitive to the sun.
On average, 10 minutes of sunbed use has the same effect on the skin as 10 minutes of Mediterranean summer sun.
WHO recommends that you should not exceed two sessions per week, for no more than 30 weeks of the year;
Linda stay away from both sunbeds unless you want to age at a rate on knots have you seen the cover of one of the womens magas this week? just look what sun damage can do.
