I was really embarrassed though, the wired BB worked fine so I tried the wireless but that wasn't working, I changed things I should have changed (and know nothing about!), which made the wired go pear shaped and a "conflict of IP" or something.
I called Sky, he tried to help me and asked if I was using a Sky wireless adaptor. After he explained what on earth he was talking about, I admitted I didn't know I needed one and promptly popped off to Curry's LOL!!
oppps, I take it your laptop hasn't got built in wireless then?
it's ok i've had worse support requests, I had a woman who works for a company I deal with send me an email asking for instructions on how to use her keyboard..... apparently my answer "well you seem to be doing just fine by the looks of it" didn't go down too well :)
Awww bless her heart, but if we don't know, we don't know, we don't magically know these things.
You know, I thought that my laptop would have had the built in wireless, I only bought it last March! I think that's why I was so surprised I needed something else LOL
I would have thought it would be wireless too, have a good look all round the laptop for a little switch hidden away, they normally have a wireless on/off switch and they hide them really well on most laptops.
or post the make model numer and I'll have a check on the specs and tell you where to find the switch if it has one
ok it has got built in wireless (good packard bells support site is shockingly bad!1)
do you have extra symbols on either the F1 or F2 keys that look a little like an aerial? if so use the fn key to the left of keyboard and either F1 or F2 together to switch the built in wireless on and off (I think!!)
It certainly does, I'd never seen a USB sticking out of anyone's laptop for a net connection before LOL
pirateliz has learned 2 things tonight, not only does she know what bagpiping is courtesy of me, she knows how to switch on wireless on a packard bell courtesy of you!
I'd say she's got her money's worth fromt the question :)
