With the exception of temporary bans on health grounds (e.g. related to BSE or similar) EU law requires that all member states must allow the free movement of all foodstuffs throughout the whole of the EU.
Although (due to their special tax status) the Canary Islands are regarded as being 'non-EU' when it comes to bringing back booze and ciggies, they're actually within the EU and thus subject to EU laws. You should have no problem taking cheese and cold meats to Lanzarote.
Err theres better food there then here so why would you want to take substandard food and deprive yourself of the sun soaked tasty goodness is anyones guess !
HAve you ever heard of the phrase dont bring sandwiches to a picnic ? The only thing your going to achieve by bringing those items is probably food poisoning thus recking your holiday! Have you recently won some kind of competition in which the prize was more cold meat and more cheese then you could carry ? Which would then make sense of why you have this obsession with filling your suitcases full of english meats and cheeses !
My friend took meat to Cyprus, when they opened the case it had gone off! So had to throw it all away.
The smell was revolting and they had to wash all their clothes!!!
Silly really, best to buy when you are there.
