We have just had a block paved driveway laid and it is on a slope, When we back a car up it the wheels spin a bit, I am more concerned about the cold icy weather and people slipping on it, apart from putting road salt on it, is there any thing else I can do to?

It must be a very steep slope - what was there before, was it a problem? However, backing up onto a steep slope means the back goes 'light', could you drive in? Maybe the contractor left a bit too much jointing sand on the surface which would act like 'marbles'. If so, its probably been washed away by now.
