A few people on here were reporting problems with their robinia frisias earlier this year & I wondered how you went on, did they recover? Is it now happening to others too?
I'm absolutely gutted to see my tree has developed some brown spots & curling mainly on it's lower branches & more on the side that gets the east wind. Seems that, according to
this information I've found (in particular see 11th post) it's a problem made caused/worse by this awful weather we've had last yr & this (up to now).

more like march than may here. sunny/windy/wet/hail. tort is back indoors snoozing under a towel and the boys are settled, one next to me and one in a dogbed. DH has just had a glass of milk so hopefully he is settling too...what next???
Hi gang, this is Walks Like A Try Square here. Seems to be getting worse instead of better and I know I shouldn't do any sitting at all but I'm BORED STIFF of walking and lying down, arrrrrgggh!

You were mentioning the RSS icons a while back when I wasn't on, perhaps you have all by now read Chuck's post in Suggestions but in case you haven't: An RSS feed is like a subscription. Personally I use Google Reader for all my subscriptions, won't go on about it as I already have, a while back. What's disturbing in AB's case is - as Chuck pointed out - that anyone can subscribe to anyone's PROFILE, i.e. to us as individuals. Being able to use an RSS feed to subscribe to a thread sounds like a good thing to me but for somebody to be able to subscribe to somebody's profile, now that's a whole nother ball game. It made me consider leaving AB. I know I couldn't do it but it's bad enough even thinking in those terms. I don't like the new Profiles even, we are all stalkable (if that's a word) through those, with or without the RSS feed. But the RSS feed does add an extra touch of psychopathy. It's not just the biddies I'm concerned about, I think it feels creepy just generally. Rant over, I only do it cos you were asking what the icons were. *subscribes to Vinny's profile to make sure he says hi to B00* (kiiiiddddding!)

Robi I loved that Paloma video:)
...but in fact I AM subscribing to Vinny's profile to make sure he doesn't try to make anyone believe he still looks like that hat photo.

oh, look at that, Lynn Redgrave's died, and her brother only just gone too.
Kit I have no idea about rss feeds or what they do .I'm sure nobody in their right mind would want to stalk an old gal like me. If they want to follow me round Morrisons while I dither over the cheese counter then go ahead :)
The only Q's I ask are mostly crosswords and not even that very often . There was a creepy guy on here who gave me a hard time but he seems to have vanished up his own pipe . I've been stalking Vinny for about five years now but he always makes a quick getaway on his bufferer :)
Btw .Thanks for your mail .I haven't crossed the electric fence .Yet ! But it's tempting .
You are very naughty :)

Nice to see you Dolly and glad you are feeling more chipper .

Nothing doing here .Cold ,windy and raining .Wind howling round here like a banshee all night .
Gordon Brown has been in town today on a whistlestop tour .Ooh the excitement of it all :)
Yes I was just reading that on the news Jno. Tragic family .Three of them in about a year .Her niece was Natasha Richardson wasn't she ?
Just returned from a memorial service for a very old ( in all ways) resident,I got absolutely soaked to the skin even though I got out the boots and winter clothes. Didn't go on to the drinkie poos cos I was freezing and just wanted to get home. Sat all through the service soaking wet and my feet were drenched. Roads are like flowing rivers. Umbrella was more inside out than outside in!!
okay, sunny holiday snaps here

One of those is not really Dutch.

Yes, shaney, Natasha Richardson was Vanessa's daughter, I think.
Oh lovely Jno .It's beautiful . I always enjoyed going there when we lived in the Netherlands .I didn't know that Fred Flintstone lived there too :) Yabba dabba doo.
.
I forgot to ask about the verdict on Lewis .I don't like Hathaways new quiffy hairstyle much but thought it was good .A slight touch of the Marchmains I thought Robina :)
I was fully expecting to see Sebastian come strolling along clutching Aloysius .
Lovely piccies jno, and even I can apprecite the beauty of the flowers.

Which one is jno flinstone, the one with the tie??
why not go to a wedding instead, neti? They do these things so much better in Europe

http://news.bbc.co.uk...ld/europe/8658327.stm

jno jnr is on the left with glasses. I haven't bothered with the whole page of the Croatian paper as Kit's probably the only one who speaks it fluently.
Very nice son jno:) ...but why have you cropped Edna Hardrock Flintstone out of the piccy? ;-) He he I would absolutely have guessed that the one to the left was your son, he has that patient, tolerant smile that kids develop whose parents are prone to telling anecdotes about people marrying their asthmatic cats>>>>>>>>>>>> ...named Cecilia...!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
/Shame about "Georgy Girl"... :(

You're welcome, Shaney:) (I'm sending Shaney a little surprise packet as thanks for the tatting kit and she has received an email with links that relate to the items in the packet. There's an electric fence in the email that she's not to cross until after she's opened the packet:)

Here you go Neti, a new umbrella https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DM2177pHMT0

good evening sky people....oooh, sorry jno, no sky for you then...?
Fantastic pics, & a very handsome son you've got. The smell of all those hyacinths must nearly knock you out! I used to have lots of fancy tulips but they were prone to viruses & they dwindled away.

I watched Avatar this afternoon. It took some getting into & I almost gave up after the first half hour but I stuck with it & quite enjoyed it. Amazing effects but I don't think I'd have coped with it on a big screen in 3D, it made me dizzy just watching it on a tv. Criticisms from an expert film reviewer, haha...Sigourney Weaver, ugh! can't stand her...sound effects too loud compared with the speech, I kept turning it up & down...script a bit corny, it made Rosamunde Pilcher seem edgy :o)..and not enough depth of emotion for me, I like a good laugh or a good cry. Hey ho, it passed a cold miz afternoon & I'm glad I've seen it.

I'm not keen on all this easy access to my ramblings either Kit, but it has it's uses ;o)...some people are going to have to sharpen up their act if they don't want to get caught out. (I love Paloma, if you watch her interviews she comes across as ditsy & as mad as a box of frogs but she must be one smart young woman!)

One of my favourite Elton songs that Vinny...and yes Jude, I meant George Michael, I love to hear him sing Elton's songs...probably my favourite, <sniff>.... but if you listen to it the intro's over 2 mins long

handsome is as handsome does and he'd look handsomer if he'd had a shave, but it was a rugby tour so I don't suppose it's allowed. Apparently their opponents cunningly wore them out by taking them on an all-day paintballing outing in the hot sun, so they lost the match afterwards.

Yes, I saw Avatar on an Imax screen in 3D and I shouldn't have, it made my head hurt. The thing about 3D is that almost everything is out of focus except the central action but on a screen five storeys high you're having to whiz your head around looking for it all the time. 2D is fine for me, or a regular size screen, or the telly; but it was a Christmas present.

They're closing airports down again, and me due in Cyprus in seven days. This had better clear up pronto.
well it's about time you stayed at home jno, how about a bit of housework in your nice kitchen (it is finished now isn't it btw!)

This village looks like the after effects of a bomb, the storms were so bad. I)'ve swept up as much as I can and getting things washed and dried. Mr N stll feels groggy but has gone to a meeting (hopefully more work) hija is at the office on her 2nd day. (Still don't know yet robi, will email). Ah the peace and quiet! Was ther a Ladies of Letters and if so what day is it on, cos the programme I get it from puts it out willy-nilly and if I'm not careful I miss it. It's lucky I only just spotted sunday's Corrie!!

morning... ☼ ..<< ssshhh!

Sorry shaney I forgot about Lewis...mmm, it was ok, & yes, a bit 'ok yah' but I like a bit of poshe. I think I was too tired for a 2hr stint, I need another freeview recorder, I miss mine.

Don't worry neti - easy for me to say - just go with the flow, that's what I'm trying hard to do. Yes there was a 'Ladies' but it's as I said before, I think (even by my standards) it's getting too silly & I didn't bother with the second half.

oh the bl00dy things I have to do...when the brown bin was emptied yesterday a load of wet smelly grass stayed stuck in the bottom so I've had to shovel, scrape & tip it out onto a plastic sheet to dry in the sun. Weather permitting there'll be more grass going in this afternoon so I didn't want it to get any wetter/more compacted...grrrr. The garden's looking lovely but the cold & rain's spoiling the blossom...oh well I s'pect it won't be long before some big baddies arrive to chop it down & start mining for imodium.
I'm not sure I understand this concenpt of 'staying home' neti. Is that what people do when they have lots of clothespegs? Anyway, I have decided to celebrate my new tooth socket by booking a holiday in Sudan at the end of the year. If it's good enough for Joanna Lumley it's good enough for me.
