I have recently added a utility room off my kitchen taking part of my garage, before I bring back the building inspector to complete and sigh off . my question is as I did not require plans only regulations the door opening size is 26" or 660mm.There is no frame fitted it just open is this too small or not?
Lilly, there aren't any specific regulations as to door sizes. It's quite common to fit a standard 2'3" (27") door. Yours is still perfectly usable though.
Don't forget you'll need an extractor fan in the utility.
No idea; it was there when I bought the place. I'm thinking it may have just been ignored. Was all supposed to be above board though according to my surveyor & solicitor.
All I have in there are the washing machine & tumble drier, some shelving, and a load of stuff that needs to go to the tip :-). Unsure what benefit a cold draft would add.
Substitution in place of warmer but far more moisture-laden air already in the room, OG.
Personally I'm an advocate of "better out than in" when it comes to moist air from internal home activities (excluding breathing).
