Anyway I am medically retired about 4 years now and receive a private pension from the Civil Service - also Incapacity Benefit.
I do believe I am allowed to work 16 hours a week. Now if that is true - would I be taxed in my new job as I already pay tax from the CS pension. Also would Incapacity Benefit people see that if you are able to work 16 hours a week you could work full time.
HMRC look at your total 'earnings', which includes pensions and benefits. Once the total annual amount exceeds your tax-free allowance, you pay tax on everything thereafter. So yes, any income from 'permitted work' would be taxable.
