Just watched episode 2 and find it very binge-watchable. Which is what i will be doing tomorrow evening. Nothing confusing about it, imho. A very easy plot to follow.
I only stuck with it for about 20 mins.
The language was appalling and although I would expect some bad language, but the 'F' word seemed to be every other word.
As soon as I heard *** and it wasn't twit, I switched off.
I thought I was going to switch off after about 10 minutes, but I'm glad I persevered. I felt sorry for him as he's obviously going through it, but I thought his acting was superb and I loved his scouse accent ! Such a different role for him.
Martin Freeman only bits - he has the k goes to ch - - as in lock
but not the vowel changes - were going to wair
and Karl's /r/ is spot on but I cant describe it
[not post vocalic, nor rhotic nor trilled]
The accents that never seem to be anywhere right are the various Norfolk/Suffolk accents, apart from Ralph Fiennes in a film called The Dig. All most actors can manage is to turn East Anglian into West Country.
Just watched the last 3 episodes (there are only 5) and, if i were a betting man (ahem) i'd put a few quid on there being a 2nd series. And, at chez 4155 at least, it would be most welcome.
