/the topless dresses of my youth/

what? Skirts?
Was she doing the breast stroke?
Bigger pic here - I see........... http://www.motherwearuk.com/userimages/procart12.htm
Andy-hughes, I agree with your comments entirely. I have no feelings either way if some women want to breastfeed in public, but it does offend, embarrass or outrage some people and their feelings should also be taken into account. It is not only about being a mother with the right to breastfeed when and where they want.
But it is....they've made it so.
A baby can easily swallow a mouthful of water in the pool anyway. What's the difference? I agree with discretion, personally. Fed mine everywhere and nobody ever noticed. Also, breastfed babies feed pretty much constantly - it's not as filling as formula.
erm, no Zeuhl - dress with sleeves, but no front :-(
I breastfed my four children and never once felt the need to lob my tits out in a public place. I think its private and there is no need to put it on display. Think some people just like to be 'in your face' about breast feeding. The pool staff should not have made a big issue of it, but just had a quiet word with the woman and perhaps suggest it might be more hygienic for the baby if she sat on a seat at the side of the pool.

I wouldn't feed my dog in our local swimming pool let alone a baby.
I've not got time to read through this whole thread, but I would say 'no'.

Get the hell out of the pool and breast feed your chd somewhere more appropriate.

When you feed a baby, they will spit up and drool. This should not be mixed in with the pool water.

Stop it. Stop it now.

I am not bothered by your boobs - but I am bothered by what your rugrat by eject.
Incidentally, I should add - boobs are irrelevant to me. I am neither appalled by them or attracted to them. They are like shoes.
No, no, and no.
Would you let folks watch you making love?
Would you let them watch you having a poo?
Discretion must be the byword.
Oh c'mon. You can't compare feeding a baby with sex and toilet habits!!
I don't think you can compare a baby having lunch to love making or going to the toilet.

But as I said earlier, I feel she should have left the pool and sat at the side.
Did she have other young children with her?
Well, I won't, but I guess many an onlooker will.
Sorry, I stand by discretion.
Well a weird comparison whoever makes it.

Ummmm, I don't know it does not say in the article.
Much like pregnant bellies, it's a private thing between the parents, I hate to see them naked and on show.
Discretion, please.
I think we are all agreed on discretion, I stand by my earlier comments - you do not 'lob' 'wap' or any other silly term your breast out.
