Charles And Camilla
120 Answers
Well it seems that simply by posting a news report on the accidental death of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall's brother it has opened a whole can of worms full of hatred against this Camilla.
So I think the best questions to ask now is why is she so hated by some, was it because Charles happened to fall in love with a married women, (nothing new there it happens not only to the aristocracy, but even to mere mortals)?
Or was it because the late Princess Diana, reached idol status among the minds of some?
And finally why in the minds of some is Charles not fit to become King, or Camilla his Queen?

Perhaps. Diana was loved by many, as evidenced by the week where Britain 'wobbled' leading up to her funeral.
Camilla was cast in the role, by many, as the bad guy.
Personally, I simply don't find her interesting. Not in the same way that Princess Margaret was interesting.

they met in 1970 and started a relationship, not exactly like the Edward and Wallis debacle. he goes off into the Navy, she marries, he then gets together with Diana, then goes on to have affair with Camilla five years later, according to various sources. He could have shown more metal had he said he wanted to marry Camilla early on, perhaps he didn't want to,
sowing wild oats and all that, but to marry someone knowing you care for someone else, that does seem quite cruel. Diana was so very young as well, and as you say it could have all been so different.

Relationship with Princess Margaret
Group Captain Townsend is best known for his romance with Princess Margaret.[4] He had met the Princess in his role as an equerry to her father, King George VI. Despite his distinguished career, in the social atmosphere of the time, when divorced people suffered severe disapproval and could not remarry in the Church of England, Townsend had no chance of marriage with the princess unless she renounced her royal privileges. Their relationship caused enormous controversy around 1953. The Princess eventually renounced Townsend, who was sent to take up a post at the British Embassy in Belgium.
