/// I don't know about 'Not quite rivers of blood' - it has absolutely nothing to do with rivers of blood. ///

Subtle I agree but it does slightly, that is why I put "not quite".
Yes, there is a knife crime problem in London.

How this can used as a reason not to control guns in the USA is beyond me.
//Which hospital is he referring to? //

Perhaps this one.
""The article quoted a BBC Radio 4 interview with Martin Griffiths, a lead trauma surgeon at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, where it said a record 702 stabbing victims were treated in 2017. “Griffiths said colleagues who served in the military likened their work at the London hospital to being back at Camp Bastion, the British forces base in war-torn Afghanistan,""

Well he couldn't well argue against gun ownership and the resultant gun murders in the USA , at a NRA event, could he

So why not try to make some spurious connection with knife crime in London to please the hordes of supporters sitting in the audience ,with AK47's strapped over their shoulders
I want Trump to name the hospital A&E department.

Shouldn't be too difficult.

Incidentally, here are the figures for mass shootings in the U.S. last year:

//And one has to ask "what is being done about it", do we hear of many arrests?//

Yes we do. We always do. You do. I do...everyone does. The arrests are in the papers, as too are the trials.

Why do you try and make out that arrests are not forthcoming, when you absolutely know that isn't true?

This is the tactic that Trump uses. You can actually say anything whether it's true or not.
I suspect Mr Trump was exaggerating somewhat. My wife sees the A&E units of a fair number of London hospitals (she would, working for the ambulance service) and I'm fairly sure she'd have mentioned seeing the floor covered in blood if such a thing ever happened.
// However, I have a certain amount of sympathy for the words of President Trump as knife crime is becoming "endemic" in London. //

oh god this has to AB
a man with a knife can kill 58 or 17 or however many

yeah yeah righto!
^It's only endemic in Croydon
^Which is a dump anyway
Stab victims are mostly poor people, and you won’t find many of those in a US hospital. Not sure it being as easy to buy a gun than knife is anything for the President to boast about.

Mass shootings are a regular occurrance in the US, and the President should concentrate on addressing that, rather than concerning himself with London.

For the record, there have been 38 fatal stabbings in London. The rate in the US is 1600 annually.
" stab victims are mostly poor people " are they. ?

Hell of a lot of difference between the population of the whole of the USA compared to the population of London.

Perhaps Khan should concern himself with the crime in london rather than trying to stir up protests about President Trumps visit.

How much bigger population wise is America compared to London.?

Yes and so are their killers that is why they carry knives, guns are far too expensive.

Is that 38 fatal stabbings in London anually ?
London and New York have similar population.

Annual murders in New York - 290
Annual murders in London

If we are counting litres of blood on hospital floors,, I make that London has two thirds less than a comparable US City.

New York is not a typical US city, it has one of the lowest murder rates in the country. Even so, London has a considerably lower murder rate.
Sorry,

Annual murders in London - 102
