"you can't just assume that any woman claiming rape has been raped"

Actually, that's exactly what you can do. Do you know the % of false rape allegations? Well i'll tell you for free. It's less than 1%. So you can generally assume, if a woman says she has been raped that she has in fact been raped.
Question Author
As they say... it aint no joking matter.
I wasn't sure of the actual number, td, but I know a man is more likely to be raped by another man, than falsely accused by a woman.
That doesn't mean it never happens... but maybe we should go with Spice's logic here and start asking how men are getting themselves into a position of being falsely accused? What was their behaviour like before and afterwards?
Question Author
Pixie, you are more likely going to die from a shark, living in a land locked town than you are to be falsely accused of rape.
Yes.
Good. It'll free up a lot of wasted time on police investigations and trials. Genius.
TD //Do you know the % of false rape allegations? Well i'll tell you for free. It's less than 1%//

How did they acquire that information? The result of trials isn't a safe answer. The only way would be, at the end of every rape trial, give the woman a foolproof truth drug (does one exist?) and ask her if the accusation was real or malicious.
Question Author
Police don't actually spend too much time investigating rape. It's usually a case of DNA it's not a wild goose chase going after the first name accused.

Those accused still have right to a fair trial.
Question Author
"How did they acquire that information?"

How does anyone acquire any information about crime.
What do you mean spice? Bhg, from the statistics that prove it is a false accusation. About as accurate, I suspect, as those that prove it is true.
Question Author
"Starmer asked the Crown Prosecution Service to look at a 17-month period, during which there were 5,651 rape prosecutions and a staggering 111,891 for domestic violence. In the same period, only 35 women were prosecuted for making false allegations of rape and six for false claims of domestic violence. The standout finding was that occasions when a suspect deliberately makes a false allegation of rape or domestic violence “purely out of malice” are “extremely rare”."

Question Author
Not just rape, but domestic violence as well. False allegations are extremely rare.
//Those accused still have right to a fair trial.//

Won't be a fair trial with you or Pixie on the jury, will it?
It never is anyway... as the benefit of the doubt is always, naturally towards the accused. Fair enough. But what point exactly are you failing to make, spice?
Question Author
"Won't be a fair trial with you or Pixie on the jury, will it?"

you seem to be taking this quite personally as if you have a grudge Spicerack, i hope that's not the case.
Pixie - where do the statistics come from? They can only come from trials and there is no way of knowing whether or not the woman was being malicious.
Question Author
Yawn, im over this now.

all the best, pixie.
They can only come from official statistics. The number of men found guilty "prove" the woman was telling the truth. The number of women found guilty of false accusations "prove" the man was.
Otherwise, we assume nobody is lying from the start, until we can prove it.
I think a lot of women cry rape falsely.
Thanks, td... it isn't really "yawn" to me, but slightly scary. But thanks for your support.
