22 year old Englishman, Tom Pidcock wins the most prestigious stage of the tour de France on Bastille day.
But Eurosport was blacked out 5 km from the finish, looks like sabotage.

I was watching on ITV, saw the finish. Great result!
You could have put a spoiler alert on that!!! Now I'll know the result when I watch the highlights. Thanks!

Why is this not in Sport then?/

Because at the moment I posted it, it had just happened, & it was indeed exciting news; at the age of 22 years and 349 days, Thomas Pidcock had made history by becoming the youngest winner of the Alpe d'Huez in the history of the Tour de France. Until Thursday, the youngest winner of the 21-corner climb was Luis "Lucho" Herrera, who was 23 years and 74 days old when he won in 1984, ahead of Laurent Fignon.

But maybe you have to be a cycling nut to see that as news? apologies.
Khandro, not need to explain you are bang on with this, it is sport that we are talking about but it's definitely news.
Sddsddean. I agree. Dave records to watch later so I was able to warn him away from AB.
It's beyond me why folk haven't the wits about them to post with a proper spoiler alert. It's not difficult.
Amazing effort by Froome too.
A tenuous link. One guy I used to work with saved all his holidays so he could have time off work to watch the full race on TV. Another guy I worked with was a TDF "follower", something he did every year with his wife. I don't know if they still allow "followers", but he and his wife had the full regalia, including expensive bikes. They could be seen every Sunday, cycling around the roads of Cheshire. Keen or wot?
beats me the idiot spectators who run along amongst the riders, totally bonkers.

gness; Sorry; it didn't enter my head that someone may be recording the TDF to watch later, & might just see it on AB, but I'm sure it was also simultaneously blasted over lots of other news outlets, as it was when Emma Raducanu won the US tennis open.

Thanks for the spoiler Khandro, won't bother watching this on catch up tv now ;-(
