Well we could start by getting rid of all the non-jobs. Terry Nappy Facilitators, 5-a-day consultants and (my favourite in my council) Smoking Liasion Officer.
Once all the non-jobs have been cut, attention can be turned to the over-staffing in councils.
This would save an immense amount of money in salaries and would also result in a cut in the absurd amount of our council tax that goes in to the pension pot.
It is a disgrace, and I will brook no argument on this, that 25%, I'll say that again, 25% of of the council tax we pay goes in to the pension pot.
Get rid of all the non-jobs, sort out the over-staffing and there wouldn't need to be a cut in services.
Councils, by and large, are filled with people that wouldn't be able to hack it in the private sector and therefore are generally run inefficiently by inefficient people.
