Yes, it definitely is one or the other....
I went with Paul on the basis that his initial character (P) was different before he was converted (S)
But I see how it could be read the other way round....

Paul the Apostle was Saul of Tarsus.
So ive gone with Paul 'P for S' ((after conversion)).
