Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Can anyone help with the following. The clue is "Canny purchase of smallest Mercedes?". The answer is two words of five letteres each and I have "?m?r?" and
"?o?e?". It seems likely that the first word is "smart" (Mercedes do make a Smart" car) but I can't think what the second word could be. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Smart Money?

Money is possible but Mover has just come to mind (purchase has connection with lever which is a mover and mover could also apply to a Mercedes Smart car). What do you think? It's a tricky one!

Yes I think that sound better than Money.

I agree with JimJools' answer - smart money.The clue seems to be a double definition. Smart money refers to clever gamblers or investors - hence "canny".
You would also need "smart" money to buy the car in question.

I favoured Mover but now I'm not so sure. The argument for Money is certainly persuasive. I shall suck my teeth on it through the day! Thank you both for a useful exchange of thoughts. The magazine/buletin is only published quarterly so it will be a long wait for the official answer!
