Abbey didn't know he had paid until her other friend told her inside the club.  Abbey offered to buy him a drink

1 or 3

OK Barry... I thought he was tight and abbey's friend had to pay...I'm surethatwas said earlier.im out of my depth trying to follow abbey's posts

Abbey's mate's friend paid as the new guy 'clearly wasn't going to'.  I'm not sure how Abbey didn't notice who was paying, but...

That's what I meant, her friend paid, not her latest date

Barry,  I too thought it was Abbey's friend who'd paid, but I re-read the relevant post and it said 'My friend's mate paid'. I'm still a bit lost, though, as the new guy didn't want to go to the club as he didn't want to pay....

Abbey, I still think it's really odd for you to say '... if he never treats me', you'd known him only a couple of hours!

Abbey et al, I'm completely lost (it's been a confusing day anyway) - I seem to recall mention of a date with a 38 year old who worked in Social Services ... is he still around and have you had a date with him, Abbey?

Question Author

Right because he wouldn't pay £5.50 to get into a club I worry he won't pay to go on a date the fact he was out with his parents they might have paid for everything.

I never heard from 38 years old since.

Abbey, 'I worry that he won't pay to go on a date'? Do you  mean you;d want him to pay his way on a date or do you mean you'd want him to pay for you on dates? He doesn't  sound a great guy to me, but you seem to rush in to judge people very quickly, on all sorts of levels. A first date can be a learning experience as well as great fun - you might like each other, one of you might like the other and the other one doesn't, you might both realise there's no point meeting up again.

Question Author

I mean not even pay for just himself at restaurants, pubs etc if he won't pay £5.50 when some are a tenner entry.

You yourself have been temporarily broke on occasions Abbey waiting for payday or just on an inadequate wage and had to miss out on nights out.

Abbey, it doesn't really matter how mean, tight-fisted the guy is, you weren't that taken with him anyway! Time to move on, keep your eyes peeled for the next one to come along.

Question Author

New yes but he can't be broke like that not to pay £5.50 no idea what sort of world he was brought up in

Abbey, isn't this all just a big non-story? You started with 'I met someone last night but doubt I'll see him again'. So all it really is is that the  guy 'pulled you', but you don't want to see him again.

Good morning,

You met a new chap whilst out with the girls and he was out with his parents?

He then left his parents to have a drink with you, but did not go to the club as he did not want to pay the entry fee?

You are suggesting he is cheap because he did not want to pay the entry fee.  Did you pay your own entry fee?

Perhaps he is not into nightclubs and did not want to come across as square?

Bad breath can be caused by eating something that upsets the bacteria, to offer chewing gum comes across as crass and uncaring.

Sorry, just to add.

You come across as very money grabby.  You expect chaps to pay for you on dates.

Chaps didn't even do that when I was dating 40 years ago.

Bad breath and I'd be gone - 'uncaring' or not.  Shallow though it may be, poor hygiene does not attract me - whatever he's been eating.  I don't understand why you're still talking about him Abbey.

//but he can't be broke like that not to pay £5.50 no idea what sort of world he was brought up in//

Why are you so judgemental? You've been broke many times, Abbey, and couldn't afford things.

Question Author

Unless he is unemployed but don't think so
