Copying a DVD on my laptop

I have a non-copy protected DVD that I want to copy for my brother (just so you know there's no law breaking! :) ). I want to make a copy of the DVD on my laptop but am a computer dunce. Can someone tell me the name of a free program I can download to do this and advise if it's simple enough to do?
