The Super-Lidl at Dowlais Top, Merthyr Tydfil opened today, and yes, it does have proper toilets !

I am on a judging panel for food and drink awards. It is breathtaking how often Lidl and Aldi come out top.

Bizarrely the point that separates them from the other contenders is accurate cooking times and temperatures.

It is heart breaking to tuck into a ~£100 turkey that is let down by dodgy cooking advice and award the top score to a £5 chicken crown. I hate to think of the number of folk whose Christmas lunches are disrupted by poor guidance from the suppliers.
