Fresh eggs seem to have disappeared from the online sites I've looked at...haven't seen any in a week. Are there ANY in the supermarkets?

No farm shops in Borehamwood, Herts. I'll have a think about corner shops.
I read somewhere recently that the chickens are still laying, and eggs there are a plenty.
However, they cannot be packed as usual because the factories producing the boxes are closed down at the moment, meaning there is a problem in delivering them to point of sale.
The packaging is the challenge for both eggs and flour suppliers. Thats why the local supplies are still plentiful because independents have their own small packaging processes.
Rowan...you can make your own equivalent of butter milk by just adding vinegar to milk.

I'm sure there may be plenty in farm shops...oh, I wish I could go to one. Alas, I've not been to a shop in 3 weeks. Neighbours were able to get some at Lidl for me last week. But I'm obviously limited in my choices. :(

I'm wondering now ideal, those unpacked eggs are going to go to waste...what a shame, if so.
'Rowan...you can make your own equivalent of butter milk by just adding vinegar to milk.'

I do that all the time. It's exactly the same as buying it, only a hell of a lot cheaper.

I've done it also.
And the antique bread flour will be fine as long as there aren't weevils crawling in it.
And Rocky...it doesn't go out of date.
I was always bothered by weevils in bags of flour and threw away loads and then someone on here mentioned about keeping flour in the freezer which I've done for ages now and the problem is a thing of the past. I'm often giving silent thanks to that lovely poster!
Local farm has plenty, £1.40/dozen.
I have never had trouble getting eggs in Sainsburys. I go at 8 o'clock which helps.
For any Morrisons' shoppers, from a shelf-stacker's perspective.

Our eggs come on the afternoon delivery (anytime from 4 to 7pm) so I'd suggest you try to be in store about 6pm if you want eggs.
We used to get about 8 cases per delivery but it has fallen to 3 or 4 cases since the 'crisis' and they do sell exceptionally fast.
well I binned it anyway
Medium eggs in Tesco Express this week = lemon and courgette cake time.
"all the shelves were full apart from tinned tomatoes"....Waitrose has all of them - I've never seen such a mountain of a canned item in my life....and also plenty of eggs.

I'm really glad everyone can find them in their supermarkets when they visit. Can you send some my way...?
Someone's stockpiled all the hens :-(
Totally!

We had to get a different type as no normal ones left - light blue shelled eggs today, anyone tried them?

Blue Araunhal or something similar - name wise anyway...

They were Tesco's extra special range, I hope they're nice...!!!!
