There are times when I wonder what my name is anyway. As a child, my mother always called me 'John' (my middle name), whereas my teachers called me 'Christopher'. My father only ever referred to me by selecting a random name from which he could drop the initial 'H'. (i.e. 'enry, 'erbert, 'ubert', 'umphrey, etc). At secondary school my teachers only ever called me by my surname. Meanwhile half of my friends called me 'Chris', with the other half knowing me as 'CJ' (which is still the case today). When I started teaching, some of the kids referred to me as 'Serge', whereas to others I was 'Tufty'. No wonder I'm always confused! ;-)
Putting aside any war crimes he might have committed, and concentrating solely on his name, Slobodan Milošević is a name that I would have loved to have been given. It's got such a lovely ring to it ;-)
