The doors open at Wobblybum today which means strawberries and cream, grunts and groans, Robinson's Barley Water, an appearance or two by old wrinkly Sir Cliff and, of course, a chance to make a few bob :-)
Casted my inexpert eye over the first day's play in the men's section and have concocted this acca;
Draper v Djokovic under 27.5 games
BPTWS (Both players to win a set) & Bautista-Agut to win
Andreas Seppi to win
Jim Vesely to win
Egor Gerasimov to win
Karen Khachanov to win
Feliciano Lopez to win a set
BPTWS & Monfils to win
£5 @ just under 95/1 = poss £478.80
Andreas Seppi win 3-1 @ 13/5
Karen Khachanov win 3-1 @ 7/2
Roberto Bautista-Agut win 3-1 @ 3/1
£1 Treble, £1 Trixie = poss £184.58

Kerber won Wobblybum back in 2018 when she gained revenge on Serena Williams who she lost to in the 2016 final. I was just thinking to myself how she was looking back to her best, when the commentator said the same thing. Looked to see what price she is to win the tournament and quite surprised to find her @ 6/1.
£5 free bet (Sky) @ 6/1
£5 free bet (Sky) @ 6/1
Medvedev lost in 5 sets, so profit now just £109.25.
Taking a slightly different approach to today's games in the men's QFs. As per usual, Djoko is unbackable @ around 1/33, so concentrating on the other 3 games;
Khachanov v Shapovalov; game to be tied at 2-2 after 4 games in each of first 3 sets @ /1
Federer v Hurkacz; game to be tied at 3-3 after 6 games in each of first 3 sets @ 7/2
Berretini v Auger-Aliassime BPTWS @ 8/13
£5 Treble @ odds boosted to just over 23/1 = poss £122.45

Profit now down to just £74.25 with Federer's poor, poor performance knocking £30 off my total. I don't recall ever having seen a top player swept aside so easily in the 2nd week at Wimbledon. Can't just be age catching up with Roger, must be something amiss.
No more bets until the men's final - not enough games - but if Djoko gets through, i will be having £20 on him to win 3-1, irrespective of who he plays.

Berretini wins 3-1 and the Djokoman wins 3-0 :-) Profit jumps to £104.
That was the first time Djoko has been extended. The young Canadian had him on the ropes at times, but the Serb called on all his nous and fortitude to get over the line. I really don't see Berretini laying a glove on Djoko on Sunday - i may change my mind on the day?
As for Shapovalov? If he can learn that not every shot needs to be an aggressive winner, that the percentage shot is often the right one, he could be a Wimbledon champion in waiting.

Well, i didn't have it all wrong, Djoko really ought to have wrapped up the first set 6-2, after which he would no doubt have gone on to win 3-0. However, he lost the first set, so i stuck a fiver on 6-4 for the 2nd set @ 8/1, then another fiver on 6-4 for the third set @ 11/2. 6-4 for the 4th set was only a 9/4 punt (bookies running scared) so i left it. Total profit for the entire Wimbledon fortnight then stands at £156.50:-) Yes, i had a great first day with just bits in between but the worst case scenario is was facing was a loss of £130. So a good Wimbledon fortnight.
Money aside, i sometimes cannot understand the mentality of the Wimbledon crowd. There did appear to be a somewhat co-ordinated support of the Italian, so not only did Djoko beat him, he beat the crowd too. I would much sooner witness history being made than witness someone's first Wimbledon win.
Djoko now stands alongside Federer and Nadal on 20 Grand Slams and has won all 3 'slams' this calendar year, with the US open to come in the autumn.
