mam dad brother sister and myself have been through a lot worse 1947 /63 winters Asian flu epidemic house had no hot water unless we boiled it damp walls one plug socket only, tin bath, outside loo, and we burnt wood when coal money was not there, dad was not a big earner, and he did work 6 days a week but we managed , meat and veg daily mainly through what he caught or shot and the veg he grew and hey still and healthy... hard times Noooo.

oh and forgot to mention the wooden window frames leaving gaps where the freezing wind howled through, btw it was a "tied" house to the place my dad worked. Oh how i miss though days lol
