Their were really vicious fights and nasty bullying at my school, long before social media and mobile phones.
Never got in the news, though.
One girl was set upon by a gang on her way home from school in the park had her knickers ripped off and thrown in the pond along with her school bag. Nothing was reported, nothing was done
Nothing new.
There have always been bullies and thugs. The only difference is they have the technology to film their attacks.
On the plus side, the are unwittingly gathering evidence that will (hopefully) land them in trouble.
It's terrible...both that it happens and that they film it. But that's where they are stupid because it increases the likelihood of the little dirtbags being caught.
This happened on a school bus in our village. A young boy, 12, sat minding his own business, when a 14/15 year old girl walked up to him and slapped him around the head very hard. Kids were just staring. Then bully girl shouted to another teenage boy to join in, which he did, as she was filming on her phone.
Poor boy, doesn't come out of his bedroom after school now, according to his Mum. The girl was suspended from school for a few weeks and police involved.
I blame the parents. Because it's a parenting job to teach your kids how to behave in society.
Of course, society doesn't allow them to say BOO ! to their offspring these days because the little darlings have rights, and that's just how kids act anyway so you mustn't interfere.
