Good Monday Morning Early Birds!

My first attempt at a Monday morn post so let's give this a go!

Bit early for the sunshine yet but it's meant to be a hot one today here - bout 28 degrees! Which means that after almost 7 months of rain non stop we will all be moaning that it's too hot in a couple of hours! Followed by nxt week the announcement of a water shortage! Ive a pretty busy day lined up -  mostly with work at home, then 2pm I have to head over to my in-laws to help them on the final clear/tidy up of their house before moving out tomorrow. After 33 years they made the mad/brave/ insane decision to sell their house and buy somewhere new over an hour & a half further away. I still think they are going to regret it, and am going to miss them terribly seeing as they only live about 15/16 mins away at the mo and we see each other many times a week. But time will tell.....

So what are you lot up to this Monday then?? : )

Morning Smow. Quick "look in" before we set off for a little day out to Black Rock sands for a walk in the sunshine. Just need to water the pots and veg and we are good to go. About an hours drive over the Crimea Pass and down to Porthmadog. Have a nice day.

Good morning everyone, it's a beautiful day here already. Nothing much planned for today, a quick tidy up and then a catch up on some crosswords 😀

Ooh Togo - that sounds fab! Are you taking lunch or grabbing a bite whilst you're out?Morning Margo - that sounds blissfully relaxing indeed. Can't beat a good crossword! Are you doing online ones or in books?

Holidays naomi - wud absolutely love one, and think we need one, but at the mo all depends on hospital appointments etc, but even if we just squeeze in a couple of weekends here in the UK that would be fab. Plus MrSmow is working absolutely stupid  hours - he keeps taking on new clients - and really does need a break. Just don't think he understands the concept of a day off!!

I find it difficult to do puzzles online Smow. I like the cryptic one in the Mail, in fact all their puzzles are good plus I have loads of books. Not keen on number puzzles though.

We used to do the full on picnic but now we just grab a sandwich on the way, probably at the very good artisan bakery in Porthmadog. We tend not to eat so much now we are older. Take a bottle of beer with me though. St Ives early September Naomi.

Craft club for me today, then a visit to the wound clinic for a knee that's refusing to heal after a fall two weeks ago.
Currently 20C here in East Yorkshire , reaching 24C later.

Afternoon all, better late than never.  I am having my once a year treat and am off to the Opera at Glyndebourne this afternoon to see Mozart's The Magic Flute.  Who's a lucky girl then, MEEEE.

Keyboardking, my post at 13.06 was me being silly because I'd had no reply so I jokingly replied to myself.  I am not Naomi I am Ladybirder and always have been.

How was it LB? I've been thinking of you this afternoon.  Have you come home elated or deflated?

Hi Naomi.  The opera itself was comical in parts and thoroughly enjoyable thank you but unfortunately I wasn't.  The grounds were lovely as usual, the sun shone and we met lots of polite and friendly people.  Then there was me, at times struggling for breath, but worse was the cramps, here there and everywhere. I sat and watched the first act but then went back to our picnic area and friend called a nurse on duty there and we were taken to watch the rest of the opera on a TV on a big comfortable sofa in a stunningly beautiful room filled with fab Mozart artifacts (even his manuscript for The Magic Flute). I was very well looked after by friends and the Glyndebourne staff who are there every time you turn round.  Doubt I will ever go again though I'm sorry to say.  Oh and I took lots of different meds with me just in case and the only one I forgot to take was the one that helps with the cramps and they didn't have any at G either.  Magnesium Citrate.
