oh - are shopping sites not allowed to be mentioned again

Aliexetc

AB has this stupid filter which blocks /Ali Express/, which is what I suspect you might have typed above.

It is Chris - but as I ask is it a safe enough site as you know me I make blunders all the time

/Ali Express/, just like eBay and Amazon Marketplace, doesn't actually sell anything itself.  It simply operates as a marketing site, where lots of different (Chinese) vendors can offer goods for sale.  So some of those vendors will be reliable, whereas others might not be.

I've bought plenty of stuff from there though, with absolutely no problems whatsoever.  (However I still wouldn't risk buying items from that site which might pose any form of electrical or other safety risk, such as an electric blanket, an electric carving knife, an eBike etc.)

^although their electric chairs perform as expected...

I have 'bought' a single item. It arrived, except it wasn't as advertised nor as shown in the photo.  I opened a complaint, the website ruled in my favour. The seller had to refund me without my having to return what was sent.  Not that I've any use for it.  Not tried again since,  obviously.
