The Royal british Legion look after all victime of all conflicts -I personally mentioned Flanders as the origination od the poppy.
it would be such a shme if people were deluded into thinking that its all to do with WW11 -its more than that.
They help families in the initial stages of their loss -they help to rehabilate our personnel.
This has really nothing to do with war and peace -its the fall out.
Of course we would all love peace but its significant that we set one day aside to remember those who have fallen -and give to enable the families and surviving victims lead an easier life.
I was under the impression that Remembrance Sunday was to remember, and be grateful to, ALL people who died in ALL wars, not just WW1 and WW11. But perhaps I am wrong..............
I never wear poppies, or wristbands, armbands or whatever. It's like holding up a big sign saying 'I'm generous, I give money to charity'. I am perfectly capable of remembering the dead without decoration.
