My neighbour and I both have concrete aprons at the rear of our houses before the gardens drop away steeply. he is now extending his apron with wooden decking 6" x 6" solid timber by about 15 feet. This means his patio area will be just about 18" below the tops of my fencing panels. I'm very unhappy about this. Is there anything I can do as it renders 15 ft of my fence pointless and you could get into my garden from his decking although there will be drop of about 12 feet. Furthermore it would seem to add value to his property while reducing mine as it creates an area of ovelooking not previously there.
I would check with the Council(Planning Dept) if he needs Planning Permission, then you can inform them what he is doing.
If no PP is required there is not much you can do.
Sorry.
