Have you had any? When my OH had a vasectomy, he was back at work the next day (albeit walking like John Wayne). [:o)

Thanks for replies all.

NM, my op was on my right hand (I'm left handed). I've got it in my left hand as well, but it is only mild in that hand, fortunately.

Jan, bless you, I know about your problems with your ankle. You have certainly been through the wars.

Was anyone quivering like a jelly beforehand? I was terrified and I only had a minor op.
In 1972 I had an accident down the pit resulting in injuries to my left leg and buttock, anyway 2 years later I was back in hospital with a vey large swelling on my bottom, caused apparently by my body reacting to a piece of coal left in the wound of the previous accident. It cost me 6 very uncomfortable weeks off work but did I get any sympathy from my mates, did I f**k, they did nothing but moan because at the time I was the only one who could drive and they had nobody to take then fishing
lol paddy I just imagined Forrest Gump saying.........butt-ock
If posted what I used to say I'd be banned for life, I'm still best mates with the same guys and every now and then when people are discussing their various illnesses and operations (when you reach a certain age it becomes a major topic) one always says tell'em why we couldn't go fishing youth resulting in embarassing discussions on the state of my elbow
rofl paddy...excellent!!
Both Achilese Tendons rebuilt and two bone grafts on my right ankle, right ankle rebuilt as well. Left ACL and Medial ligaments reattached, Right ACL done as well, pin in left tibia, both collarbones pinned and plated, left wrist pinned, all sporting injuries!!

Appendix removed as it burst then three subsequent ops to clean up the absceses.

Just a few trips to the hospital ;-)
I had a hysterectomy when I was 38, and seven months ago had a hip replacement, my hip is Ok now, but the other leg is starting to ache a lot, I'm trying to ignore it don't want to be laid up again for a while yet.

My OH had a stent put in his artery, and he had a blockage removed from a vein in his neck,
Had to have a c section 2 years ago when I had my youngest children (twins) - I cried every time someone mentioned it. Even cried when I got there so they let me go first to shut me up!

Well, reading all that has definitely made me feel better about having to go for a second op later in the year. Thanks for posting them all. xxx

Paddy, that's awful about the piece of coal being left in your bum ..... I'm sitting here chuckling though ....... not by what actually happened - it's the way you tell it!
Ive had facial reconstruction so my face is permanently an insane grin, even when I'm sleeping! Lol.
^Did you have a red-nose surgically attached, too ?
Red nose? My facial reconstruction joke was a pointer towards an earlier joke about me looking like my avatar which does'nt have a nose.
