...I can be the last one (maybe) to say goodnight, and the first one to say good morning: however, if one continues to travel westward one is in the 'far east': how does that work?

I have no idea stewey but trust you had a nice ramble over the field tonight?

Your Highness, I didn't recognize you; you look not so much as a Queen but as geographical scene. Anyway, rambled there and took a cab back.
Because you cross the In International Dateline.
Why am I not surprised by the taxi fare stewey! Glad you had a nice time. Good morning wbm - trust all is well with you today?
Question Author
Yes, WB; i know about the dateline; however, I'm asking why it's called the "far east' when I travel west from , say, Vancouver to Japan surely it's the "near east". Now flying from the UK to Japan then it's the "far east". Just being silly, you know:)
I noticed stewey :-} Me trying to be all serious. If it was called the near east in Canada and the far east from UK, what confusion that would cause!

Morning ttfn. I'm about to open the GMEB thread. You're welcome to join us stewey old lad! :-}
Well it'd eb the near west to you, but if you did go east it would be even farer and you wouldn't cross the international date line.
Grammar Mollykins farer?
