I wouldn't put anything past some people. A friend of mine was followed home by two men who had watched her put her pin number into a supermarket machine - and when they arrived at her house, one of them distracted her whilst the other stole her bag - with her card in it - from the front seat of her car. Fortunately her bank picked up on it quickly. I'm so very sorry for your colleague.
It happened to me a few years ago but they never caught the Cockroach who stole my shopping. Any CCTV near your mate's car?

we were burgled a week before christmas, some years ago now, and all the plods could say we weren't the only unlucky ones. I would have strung them up by their Christmas balls.
^^ Me too Em - twice!! I have to say the police were great - but we didn't recover anything. :o(

Hope you're feeling better, by the way. x
naomi, off to doctors, though dread going out in the cold, but he needs to take a look see, a possible ear/throat infection, so might need antibiotics.

But being burgled was a terrible thing, TV and stereo gone, plus the mess they left behind, add into the fact it was 1 week before Christmas and no money to put things right. I have never hated someone so much as that person or persons.
the policeman that turned up 4 hours after burglary looked as though he should have still been in school, though the CID chaps came next day, but weren't really any help. Many of the houses had been done along the road, so as said we weren't alone.

my other work mate got burgled about a month ago. Looks like it was well planned, she has 2 rotweillers and they had been fed with meet to keep them happy.
My nephew has been in NZ on honeymoon for a month. They got home to find the back door broken in. All they took was a diamond ring his mother had given to his new wife, everything else cameras videos TVs untouched. They also burgled next door and took a pair of sparkly M&S earrings. Must have been kids. You could say he was lucky.
very lucky. The house at end of our terrace was broken into one day, all they took was a jewellery box, but they cut themselves on glass (its thought) as they were getting in. So what did they do? they set fire to the house. Whole lot went up in flames.
That is sickening. I went out to my car one morning in 1998 to find that three windows had been broken and my radio stolen (I'd removed the front window winders only that night). I still remember how sick and upset I was about that and I've never had a radio or music system in the car since.

I hope your colleague manages to get some more presents 4getmenot, sorts out the car and has a good Christmas. I think it'll probably be ruined thoug so I am sorry for her.
