i couldnt even hold down water and lost weight at the start, i had this with both of my pregnancies, it hasnt put me off having more, i would suggest you see your gp as there are drugs that can help you, i couldnt take the oral tablets but i was given suppositories (sp) luckily i was taking into hospital before i had to use them!
Speak to your gp or midwife, they can advise you, just because you have had it once it doesnt mean you will get it again, good luck xx
I did suffer from hyperemesis with both my pregnancies, but it was slightly less horrendous the second time around. I think that was because I knew what to expect, I knew that I had had a healthy baby first time round despite all the vomiting and that the sickness would go away as soon as I had given birth again. My son was less than 12 months old when I was pregnant again, so it was difficult being so ill with a baby, but I didn't feel as desperate as I did the first time. You might not get the hyperemesis again, but if you do at least you know what you are dealing with. I hope it doesn't put you off having another baby if you want one.
And whilst us sufferers are reading this - how annoying are those people who tell you they were "really sick" when they were pregnant, and it turns out they just felt a bit quesy in the mornings and perhaps went off tea or coffee!! They want to try vomiting 20 times a day. And what about the books that say "try a ginger biscuit before you get out of bed" - arghhhhhhh..........
