A very successful trip to Wales and found a lovely smallholding on the side of a Welsh mountain in the Wye Valley. Hopefully move in end of June beginning of July.

Ha ha, "now in a minute" did take some getting used to but this is a quite Anglicised area and you don't hear much Welsh in day to day conversation.
The local dialect is Radnorshire eg "ood morning and how are you today?" becomes "Ow bist e boy?"

Now, I have booked the charabanc and so far have sixty eight names down for the third week in July...do we need to bring our own sleeping bags and is there a barn for Tony and his goats?

Craft, I am hurt. I am super-duper Welsh hailing from the borough of Rhondda Cynon Taff (spell check hated that) - they shoved them all together to make them sound mega Welsh!

My auntie is from Senghenydd (or something like that.) I met a Welsh 'lady' on a cruise who spent about an hour or more berating us about English people who bought second homes in Wales, depriving the locals of houses. I assured her I would never do that.............

The house is 3 miles from Rhayader up the valley, I have been to Wales many times and I find the the Welsh far more friendly than the English to be fair.

We need to buy a landrover to get up to the house in the winter as it is on quite seep land but we have level fields at the top and the bottom.

WyeDyed, thankyou, I will remember that, we know little of the area but from what we have experienced so far through chatting to lots of people and driving around the area we are very impressed and more than happy to settle there.

Lol, they had snow there last week, you can still see it on the tops of the hills in some areas.
