I have only ever cooked proper chips at home once.

The very rare occasion (2-3 times) I have cooked oven chips was for visiting fussy kids.

I love chips and enjoy having them as a treat, I do get a bit grumpy if they're crap though :-(
Bet it's circa 1968 then, shoota.
No Peas, I didn't. I did proper thin chips with sainsburys extra special jacket potatoes which were starting to sprout. They were really nice, almost sweet, even had to have a chip butty...
'Do you do wedgies' is not a question one should ask of a lady....

Tony...you cut potatoes up like chips then bung them in the oven having put a bit of olive oil or something on them first.
I really don't want to go believe me, but the cupboards are bare and I have family coming at the weekend.
I sometimes do do wedgies...but that's for another thread :)
Eccles, did you do your buffet? If so, did it go down ok within the confines of the food you were faced with?
oop's sorry, they sounded nice though - bit fiddly doing straight cut home made ones - did you use a gadgety-thing?

Rocky, got any tinned stuff? you could do a 'Bung-it'

Ethandron, I did and it went very well; thank you for asking. I could easily chew my arm off for some lovely crisp frites with aioli or satay sauce to dip into at the mo though!

Thanks.

shoota does it still have the musket shot holes in it.
Chilled as a chilled thing here - home made steak and kidney pie in oven.
And she's on her hols. ^^^^^^^
its been raining here, S.Wales, most of the day, and cool(ish)
opens cookbook and stares...

Not fiddly at all Peas, took little more time than if Id opened a bag of frozen oven chips and put them in the oven...but much, much nicer. No gadgets involved, just a sharp knife.
Even more chilled here mamy, himself is currently slaving over a hot microwave and toaster making us scrambled eggs on toast whilst I'm laying on the sofa looking all wan and pathetic. He's even putting salt on it for me, how wonderful is that??
One from my late BIL. Cold as a Frog on an ice bound pool, Cold as the k***b on an eskimo's tool, Cold as charity & that's bloody chilly, but not so cold as our poor Willie , he's dead poor sod.
