Slappy 5-9 is not short, it's average. It's not bliss here as I am 48 hours into a minimum carbs diet - as low as possible. I won't go into the details but how the body reacts so quickly. I was exhausted last night and my brain not in top gear here. However, bliss it wasn't as a good couple of portions of a lamb and chorizo casserole that my sister had made, destined to be my lunch, went down the bloody dog's gullet. No wonder he has an ass on him like the proverbial barn doors and he's only a spaniel....

Anyway, she has a strop and then decides to play 'dead' in bed. Could I wake her? Nope - I thought, Christ, has she had a turn/stroke but no visible sign of that.....pulse was ok, breathing was ok etc. I let her be and an hour later, she walks downstairs as if nothing has happened. That reminds me to go and sterilise the casserole dish.....

The bliss part came with the car though. For ten days or so, it has had an irritating rumble underneath, centre back. Thought could it be a shock but then no on that, perhaps the exhaust wing plate has corroded? Go into the garage, the mechanic gets his foot run over by his mate as he comes out to test the beast. Anyway, he heard it on the run-around, up onto the jack, nothing untoward and then he found a small rock in there, between the exhaust and the chassis, about 2 by 1.5 by 1 inch that was rattling away.

Cost a fiver into their box for end-of-week drinks....cheapest car bill in years.
