these energy saving light bulbs,i thought they were supposed to last for 10 years or more.6 months in our house, and theyre full of mercury.and another thing, statins, why are doctors pushing these tablets? the flu jab. blood pressure tablets,i think there is a hidden agenda to see us all of until we reach retirement age!!
I like living sambro and I am very grateful for statins which have enabled me to live longer. Some people might want to die but I do not. I am on the full dosage - it is pretty high as you can tell but I would have snuffed it a long time ago if not for statins.
I've got energy saving light bulbs still going strong after 5 1/2 years....so no complaints from me. I bought 3 Phillips bulbs in Sainsbury's the other week for just 30p.
I am certain because high cholesterol is in my family and so far my brother has died of a heart attack at the age of 47 before they knew about statins and my other brother has had a triple by-pass. So far I have managed to avoid this and reached my 80's but I still don't fancy dieing. I shall live as long as I can and use everything available to help me..
society, i thought your answer seemed dismissive of statins..............must have read it wrong.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,dont think you going anywhere star for a while. :)
I want to be able to see when I walk in to a room, not have to wait 10 minute for the bulb to heat up, so I bought 150 of 100 wat bulbs before they went out of circulation.
Not if I can help it anne. I also take tablets for high blood pressure and I have a flu jab every year. it's no effort to take them and it keeps me going.
I think I read something about giving men over a certain age (very vague I am afraid) statins to keep heart attacks away.
Statins:
Half of the NICE panel received money from drugs makers
The NICE panel chairman got tens of thousands of pounds from 5 drugs firms.
NICE last year issued guidelines telling GPs to prescribe more statins.
Now there's a surprise!
