Copying Video Tapes to DVD

I have quite a large library of pre-recorded video tapes and want to transfer them to DVD. However, my clever (AARGH!) DVD recorder tells me it detects 'copy protected' media and won't record them....

Why is a bumblebee called a bumblebee?

It occurred to me last night while watching one in the garden and it's now annoying me that I don't know! Does anyone know why "bumblebee"? Is it because they bumble about perhaps?!
