The fault appears to be the stop solenoid, but we can't find it!! The Haynes manual says it's on the top right for a Lucas unit, (which it looks like) but there is a gold coloured cover on the right...

Dear AB ED, I have just discovered that a "tab" terminates a posted answer and submits it.  Is this intentional?  It makes it difficult to format numbers in a reply.

Can anyone explain the difference between a normal (linear) polariser - which is just like your polaroid sunglasses - and a "circular" polariser, which doesn't interfere with auto exposure/focus etc?
