Is It True That Mods Can Remove Their Own Posts?
205 Answers
I see a couple of ABers have referred to a mod removing his/her own posts. Is this allowed? And how would we know who had removed a post although I suppose it is highly unlikely one mod would remove the post of another mod. Just interested as if it's true it seems unfair to me. Any thoughts?

That was me being accused of that not you. I guess you can be part of the implication earlier by the same poster that we are liars though.
I get accused of a lot of spurious rubbish but like svejk I shrug it off and don't beg anyone to move posts or threads. I got accused by a poster that he spoke in a certain manner. This was the poster who proclaimed that he no longer read my posts, what I said was of no interest to him and he had no respect for me. I didn't cry about that for sure but later he had to beg my pardon because he "misunderstood" what I had written earlier regarding an explanation I was giving to another ABer. So the man lies .also

During a discussion about mods a while ago I said it wasn’t unknown for some of them to abuse their powers (I didn’t mention it at the time but in a bit of a fractious thread in Chatterbank I’d seen a mod post an abusive message to another poster and immediately remove it). That led to a direct insult from the ‘power that is’ who accused me of making it up (I don’t tell lies) so I see no benefit in being advised to ‘contact the editor’ when past experience indicates that judgement is pre-formed - albeit injudiciously. In an attempt to help I used to report people advertising etc., but since then I haven’t reported anything. There are a couple of mods who are incredibly rude to other people on occasions, but it’s the ‘old boys club’, I know that, and I’m past caring.

I don't believe that mods are exempt from the same rules as everyone else.
I am as robust a debater as you will find on here, and apart from the carping of some people who don't appear to like what I post or the way I post it, I have received no official sanction whatsoever, so I would dispute your suggestion that there is an 'old boys network' in operation.

what bout us old girl mods naomi ;-) ?
I've said on a previous thread that I was a sarky begger before I become a mod, that hasn't changed since becoming one! We're all human, we're bound to make what others perceive as a cock up on the occasional thread, though I do have to admit being surprised that one was abusive.
