John 14:2 clearly illustrates that the Cosmos if full of alien life. In my father's house there are many mansions

No.
And for a very simple reason: organised religion will never, ever admit they were wrong.
If alien life on another planet were to be discovered, all the religions of the world - be they small or large - would simultaneously agree that their particular god prophesied such a scenario. The discovery of extraterrestrial life would be adsorbed into the multiplicity of religions without so much as the blink of an eye.
Such is the delusion of religion and those who follow.

If David Attenborough, standing in the Grand Canyon, can't shift people irrational beliefs in Sky Gods, than I can't think what will !

They have already been discovered, driving up and down our street with their boombox full blast that made the windows vibrate, until the council put in a judderbar.
If any Aliens were to look down upon us what would they think? People destroying their own environment. Swarms of people being killed for their beliefs or possessions. The list goes on.
Never mind the end of religion. The Aliens will probably end Life on Earth as an experimental astronomical failure.

Your quote is from the King James Bible. Other interpretations are available. For example, the Weymouth New Testament says, "In my Father's house there are many resting-places.". In the New Living Translation bible it says, "There is more than enough room in my Father's home."

You're being dishonest when you say that John 14 is talking about extraterrestrial life. It is doing no such thing. Jesus was attempting to comfort his disciples with talk of an afterlife - not describing the possibility of life on other planets.

ukbod....It seems from your link, that this passage from the Bible can be interpreted in many different ways, because there are different translations of the exact words used. I am not sure what language was used in the very first version of this bit of text...Aramaic or Greek I suspect.
But dwelling places, rooms, lodgings and mansions are not the same thing at all !

sandyRoe - "Birdie, isn't the beauty of these texts that they are open to interpretation?..."
No!
Quite the opposite actually. It is precisely because many religious texts are vague, metaphorical, apocryphal and ambiguous that there is so much religious disagreement and strife in the world. Holding up such dubious values as being "beautiful" demonstrates a delusion that genuinely defies belief.
